selena and joris
From Berlin, Selena and Joris bring a rich mix of energy, artistry, and deep love for the Jazz Era dances to every class. Both discovered Lindy Hop back in 2006 and have spent the years since immersed in its music, movement, history, and community. Selena's teaching is playful and energetic, full of the practical insights she wishes she'd had when she started, helping dancers find confidence, joy, and their own voice.
Joris brings a humble, roots-focused approach shaped by more than fifteen years of teaching in over seventeen countries, along with a musician's ear that gives his understanding of jazz and blues real depth.
Together they teach as an exchange rather than a one-way lesson, inviting you to share, create, and grow.
Whether you're new to Lindy Hop or looking to refine your style, Selena and Joris will inspire you to dance with heart.

This level is your go-to if you dance on a regular basis. You have some years of dance experience, and once in a while you can be found at a social or a festival. You feel comfortable dancing variations on swingouts, and you have a broad assortment of Lindy Hop moves. In doubt about which level you want to sign in for? Then we recommend this level because it’s the broadest level.

Lindy Hop doesn’t have any secrets for you anymore. When you are on the dance floor, you own it. You dance more than you walk, and you visit every social and festival you can. You feel comfortable with improvisation, and you’re good at technicality and musicality. Nevertheless, you like to improve your skills and want to challenge yourself. We warmly welcome you at this level!

Logic of the Lindy Turn
Clean up the Lindy Turn and look at how and why it can be so easy. This class breaks down the mechanics: where the turn actually comes from, why timing beats strength every time, and how to stop overriding a system that already works. Less effort, more turn.
Selena & Joris
Lindy Hop in Low Gear
Slow tempo, same style, twice the control required. This session digs into heavy-hitting "slow swing," the sound Count Basie's band built a career on. Momentum and balance don't come free when the music drops below your comfort zone, so they'll show you how to hold both without looking like you're working for it.

Friday
The weekend opens gently: a class, a culture talk, and after dinner, straight into the preparty at Odd Fellows. Dancing runs until midnight. If you're not done yet, the afterparty at De Vluchte picks up right where it left off.
Saturday
No need to set an alarm too early. The day opens with classes, then a lunch break where everyone eats together. Lunch can be pre-ordered with your ticket if you'd rather not think about it. After lunch, it's more classes and theme classes. All at Lumen.
Once the day winds down, take time for dinner and a shower, then get ready for the night. The big party takes place at Mystiek, band and DJs alternate, floor open until late. Drinks are included in your ticket, soda, beer, wine, so the only thing you need to worry about is dancing.

You’ll spot DJ Dirk-Jan spinning swing straight from the original vinyl! With his sharp ear for rhythm and a carefully curated collection, he brings the dance floor to life and keeps everyone moving. Proudly from the Enschede lindy scene, he delivers tunes made for Lindy Hop and pure joy!
Hot soup
A social dancer, digger and party maker, he knows exactly what gets people moving. His sets are a soulful blend of swing and various jazz styles. From festivals like Herräng, Dragon Swing to The Night Train in Cologne, Hot Soup brings people together through music and dance. Picture taken by Juls Sobrón.
Jorne
DJ Jorne has been part of Enschede's swing scene since the early days, back when Swing Out Loud was still finding its feet. These days he takes that same ear on the road, spinning parties and socials across the Netherlands. Home crowd or not, he knows exactly what a dance floor needs.

Mystiek theater
This year the festival moves to Mystiek Theater, a theatercafé tucked inside Spinnerij Oosterveld, the old textile mill on the edge of Enschede's center. Industrial heritage, still intact, now holding something else entirely.
Wood floors, warm light, a stage low enough to feel close. The kind of room where a band and a crowd of dancers just make sense together.
Drinks are included in your ticket. Soda, beer, wine, pick your poison, no separate tab to keep track of.
Saturday lunch
Saturday's schedule includes a lunch break between classes, so everyone can eat together instead of heading off separately to find food. To make that easy, you can pre-order lunch with your ticket. There are four poke bowl options, including vegetarian and vegan choices.
